The week that was at Crimespree Cinema: 11/07/09/.

After talking with He Who Does Not Sleep (aka Jon Jordan) I have decided to bring back a weekly summary of the happenings over at Crimespree Cinema.

A fake movie trailer has led to an actual film being made! Here is the first poster for Robert Rodreguiz' MACHETE. The film will feature Jessica Alba (featured on the poster), Danny Trejo, Cheech Marin, Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal (as a bad guy!), Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson, Rose McGowan and Lindsay Lohan.

Captain James T Kirk (the new one) is leaning towards the film version of Marcus Sakey's THE BLADE ITSELF.

The CBS crime show NUMB3RS has had it's current season shortened, meaning the end is likely near, and we have some info on what you can do to help it survive...other that watching it.

A couple of DVD reviews went up, UFC 100: MAKING HISTORY (I love me my MMA!) and THE BARON: The Complete Series. We also have a look at some of the notable releases for the week.

Trailers are up for SHERLOCK HOLMES (the third trailer for Guy Ritchie's take on the iconic sleuth) and THE KILLER INSIDE ME (Casey Affleck looks pretty damn good here).

After getting dumped by NBC, SOUTHLAND finds a new home with TNT. In other TNT news: We also have some cool news for fans of THE WIRE and HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS, a David Simon vet will be directing the new TNT pilot about a cop that is also an Elvis Impersonator.
